Week 1 Reflection

This week was an extremely productive and educational few days. Starting on Monday, I was excited to begin the challenge of the daunting fifteen to twenty-page paper. Accumulating the research and work I have completed in the past year, I addressed my outline and began writing. Every day this week consisted of me waking up and arriving on campus by 9:30 AM. The early start allowed me to remain focused in the library, most mornings with Katherine and Nora, and continue progressing with my essay. Overall, I learned the importance of time management. When originally tasked with completing this assignment, I was nervous about the time in which it would take me to construct a draft. By making myself a schedule and sticking to it, I was able to write the first version of my essay this week. Finishing this draft allows me to spend an adequate amount of time editing and revising, while also making my slideshow for the public demonstration next weekend.

Due to my passion for the sciences, I have really enjoyed my concentration. Being invested in the material I have chosen to research has allowed the challenges of the concentration program to be very enjoyable even though it is quite time-consuming. Everything so far has been seamless, as I have progressed through the tasks in a timely manner. With the draft I currently have, I expect this week to be as productive as the last. This week, I will be focusing on editing my essay and making the slideshow for my presentation to the Sports Medicine class.
